What She Really Wanted.. Was for love to last through dusk, dawn, and twilight. She really wanted to be told she looked lovely in the dim, dying light that so framed her face. To run alone down the avenue, across the sidewalk, through a grassy field, in an empty lot, anywhere, without a care. To wear a dress that was actually too expensive. To walk into the middle of a crowded street just to create a line of angry traffic. She really wanted to know everything— How the sparrow flew so high, how the angels flew even higher.
